The 17.1km ‘City Circuit’ of the 2022 UCI Road World Championships features 12 times* in the elite men's road race, and six times in the elite women's road race. There are other the aspects of the race route for these final events of #Wollongong2022, but this loop makes up the finale of the championships.
In this long video, I offer my observations of the route, the roads – the surface, widths and gradient – and the directions taken on a circuit which includes only 250 metres of elevation gain (predominantly in a two-kilometre section in the suburb of Mt Pleasant.

This is the story of my ride on Wednesday 17 August 2022.
