Travel Vlog- Adoption Journey Bogota, COLOMBIA I Cerro de Monserrate- we all went up the mountain!

The mountain of Cerro de Monserrate rises over downtown Bogotá, dominating the skyline of Colombia‘s capital. A church high up on the mountain is one of the city’s most popular tourist attractions, while taking in the view from the summit is a must-do tourist activity. There are several different ways to reach the top of the mountain, including by cable car, funicular railway, and on foot- we rode the funicular and it was unforgettable! Traveling by funicular up from Bogota at 2600m and then ending up at nearly 3000m was just amazing!! Just the walk up the hill to the church and the view took our breath away. The views were epic and from there we discovered a gorgeous church with lovely architecture, a beautiful market to walk through with souvenir vendors and some food stalls/restaurants in the market as well- we literally sat on the edge of a cliff and had an amazing lunch with a view of lush forests. Monserrate is well worth the visit- it was an incredible experience and highly recommended; a super special memory for our family!
