1982's Out is something a bit different.
It's mostly negative score everywhere online seems to be because it's also known as Deadly Drifter, and the DVD is trying to sell it as some sort of unhousedsploitation film, as they're probably called today.
It's nothing of the sort. Instead it's an experimental art film with vague meandering scenes and narrative which poses questions with no answer, and sometimes no question either.
Knowing nothing going in and even less coming out, I think I was the perfect audience.

I gave it a 5.5 because although it's technically shoddy, semi-improvised and confusing in places, film-studenty and pretentious in patches, I've probably thought about this film after watching it more than any other I've covered for this channel. Plus the lead performances from Peter Coyote and O-Lan Jones at times really worked for me.
Re-watching to get these clips made me add the extra half point, and it wouldn't surprise me if my score goes up again next time I watch.

But equally it might just be boring nonsensical waffle. I think this review shows both can be true.
