Most golfers try to add extra speed to the clubhead in order to try and make the ball go straight and far, but by doing that they're actually causing the opposite to happen. Dustin Johnson, Cameron Champ, Rory McIlroy, Joaquín Niemann and Tommy Fleetwood all hit the ball far by delaying the delivery of the clubhead to the ball. When we try to rush the clubhead the wrists and arms break down and we lose leverage and speed. By allowing the clubhead to strike the ball when it gets there, rather than trying to force it to move faster we hit the ball with much more power and a more stable clubface. It will feel like the ball will go dead right but it won't. The engineering and design of the club cause it go straight down the target line. You would never rush a baseball bat to the ball - you always swing the barrel of the bat from behind you. The same is true in golf. We need to imagine we're striking the ball with the shaft and not the clubhead.

Golf should not be a struggle. Golf should not be hard. Golf is easy if you know the secret.
