Things to do in Bilbao, Spain: From The Guggenheim Museum & Puppy to The Artxanda Funicular

Hang on tight! The city of Bilbao is rocketing forward as a unique travel destination, anchored on the $100 million dollar Guggenheim Museum and its signature waves and swirls of titanium.

Things to do in Bilbao include:

Snap a photo with ‘Puppy’, the 13-meter-high flower sculpture based on a West Highland White Terrier.
Visit the UNESCO-protected, Vizcaya Bridge, built in 1893.
Ride up the Artxanda Funicular to capture a commanding view of Bilbao and ‘El Botxo’, or ‘the basin’.
Feast on Pintxos, Tapas, and white Txakolina wine in the city’s old town.
Stop into the Alhóndiga Cultural Center for a swim in a glass-bottomed pool on the roof of this former wine warehouse.
