An afternoon taking photos and videos in Roscigno Vecchia, the Pompei of 1900, with my cousins Giuseppe and Anna.
Roscigno Vecchia stands on the slopes of Mount Pruno, Campania (Italy).
The find of a necropolis and a fortification wall proves its presence
in this place until the IV century bf.
Roscigno Vecchia, as we know it, was born in the 14th century by the work of Corleto's inhabitants who moved here, attracted by pastures and the Ripiti and Sammaro rivers.
In 1902 and 1908, following two special lows in favor of citizens of towns subject to landslides, the exodus from Roscigno Vecchia began.
Inhabitants of Roscigno obeyed the laws and moved to the new houses built in Roscigno Nuova, leaving behind and abandoned the old town.
