Johan Svendsen: Romance

There is one piece I have performed in concert more than any other work; Johan Svendsens Romance from 1881. More than 500 times counting all his original scorings. I have recorded it 3 times on CD. My very first track was on Simax's CD with Svendsens Music For Strings with the chamber orchestra at NMH (Norwegian Academy of Music) were I am proud to announce that I have just been appointed professor starting this Autumn I will still teach at Barratt Due and visit RNCM where I am International Chair of Violin and Fellow (at least for a while)
On our first concert after lockdown it was moving to play this dearest piece for the now allowed 50 people inspiring us with their presence realtime !!

I suddenly realized that on my last concert before lockdown I also performed it at the Ose Twins festival in Sandane March 8th with Christian Hadland.
I never tire of this masterwork with its endless possibilities for storytelling, joy and love.
