Japan to Recruit 100,000 Bangladeshi Workers Over the Next Five Years
Japan has announced plans to hire at least 100,000 workers from Bangladesh over the next five years to address its growing labor shortage. The announcement came during the “Bangladesh Seminar on Human Resources” held in Tokyo, where Bangladesh’s Chief Adviser, Professor Muhammad Yunus, confirmed that the interim government will take all necessary steps to create employment opportunities in Japan for Bangladeshi citizens.
Two key Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) were signed at the event:
Between Bangladesh’s Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) and Kaicom Dream Street (KDS), a Japan-Bangladesh joint venture.
Between BMET and Japan’s National Business Support Combined Cooperatives and Japan-Bangla Bridge Recruiting Agency (JBBRA), representing over 65 Japanese companies.
Japanese companies have expressed strong interest in Bangladeshi talent, citing their skills and potential. This initiative is seen as a major gateway for Bangladesh’s youth, half of whom are under 27, to explore career opportunities in Japan.
