Splatoon 3 - The Triumvirate Returns!

It seems people noticed something odd about the Salmon Run schedule over the first weekend of July 2024: after about a month after the BIG Big Run, in which the Triumvirate is at large, where all three King Salmonids (Cohozuna, Horrorboros, and Megalodontia) fight the team of INklings at once, they’re back! Going from July 6th to 7th, 2024, this Salmon Run shift is set in Jammin’ Salmon Junction, and all weapons are random. To my knowledge, all Grizzco weapons are available.

Though the Triumvirate is just as tough to beat as always, as all of them have HP meters equal to how they’d fight when alone, it seems that the tripled quantities of scales you get for reaching that far was not just a trait of BIG Big Run, but any time you fight the Triumvirate. You also get to use your special weapon twice instead of just once.

I found out after the BIG Big Run, by the way, that Megalodontia will indiscriminately damage Cohozona and Horrorboros, though Cohozuna and Horrorboros are careful not to target each other. Hence, it seems to be in your best interest to get rid of Megalodontia first, then fight the weakened Cohozuna and Horroboros afterwards. From what I hear, it can be done, but it needs the right weapons and total cooperation from all four players. As I generally play with random teammates, I don’t expect it to happen.
