A look at the bend deformer in Autodesk Maya to add a curve into a 3D Object. We look at using the insert edge loop tool to add multiple edge loops at a equal distance apart. Adding the edge loops provides the geometry for the bend deformer to work. If there are not enough polygons in the mesh then the object cannot bend with enough fluidity. It will either just move upwards or will look jagged. If there are problems then deleting the history and freezing the transform allows the 3D object to be viewed as a brand new object and will stop any previous changes from affecting how the bend deformer works.
