Khariyan, Often dubbed as the ‘Little Norway of Pakistan’, Kharian is an incredibly charming city in Punjab. Currently, it serves as an administrative division of District Gujrat and is also known as Kharian Tehsil.
Kharian has the honour of catering two of Pakistan’s biggest industries, including the production of handcrafted Punjabi fans, cane furniture, and crockeries, especially knives. The city is also one of the major suppliers of rice, wheat, sugarcane, tobacco, and seasonal vegetables and fruits. So, if you catch yourself enjoying the juiciest melon this season, you should know that it is probably from Kharian.
When we entered the city khariyan we had had Fruit chat, which we heard a lot about. It was full of cream fruits and especially nuts, which gave a nice crunch to the dish. Was awesome.
Right beside the fruit chat shop there was a biryani shop which ch was also highly recommended. The rice was well done so was the chicken.
While roaming in the bazar of khariyan we came across a desert shop, falooda. Was nice and chilled, with moderate sweetness.

On the gt road, khariyan, we had our last meal of the day Shinwari. Quality, Quantity of Food and ambiance of hotel was brilliant.
Let me tell u a bit background origin of Mutton shinwari, it is a curry of Pashtun cuisine originating from the Shinwari tribes in Peshawar. This authentic Pashtun recipe involves cooking the mutton in the traditional method of cooking it in its own fat to give the curry a distinctive flavour and aroma. The use of no spices distinguishes it from other curries.
The chapli kabas, the kehwa all was up to the mark. Also their hospitality was way beyond our imagination.
