In this cost savings series, I've set up a new AWS Account and I'm going to walk you through MFA and Cost and Usage Report setup and why I think this is one of the best ways to visualize your data.

Why am I configuring MFA as part of the CUR setup, because it's one of the first things you should do for a new account.

I've configured the CUR (Cost and Usage Report) to use Amazon Athena so I can run simple SQL queries without having to download the CSV file. Because we all know how much fun CSV files are to analyze and decypher.

In the next series, I'll enable Cost and Usage Report and Setup Budgeting Alerts.

Once my CUR file gets generated, we will go back and configure Amazon Athena.
