Building A Log Cabin | Ep. 39 | Wood stove is in | Cladding the gable ends

Описание к видео Building A Log Cabin | Ep. 39 | Wood stove is in | Cladding the gable ends

Welcome to our channel! This Log Cabin Project is a dream that we have had for several years that we finally decided to make a reality. Our goal is to build a tiny log cabin from scratch using as much material from our land as possible. We are building it entirely using hand tools (no chainsaw!). This cabin will function fully off-grid and will be only accessible by foot. Subscribe to follow our journey!

In this episode, we complete the task that we couldn't last episode: bringing up our wood stove to the cabin. After fixing up the trolley, we pulled the stove the rest of the way and put it in place. This allowed us to finalize the placement of the rocks for the stone hearth. We then lay down some cement boards that will support the hearth and the ceramic tile flooring (to be done in a future episode). We also get started cladding the gable ends with wood boards. We complete almost one gable end, but have to leave the top unfinished because our ladder is not tall enough.

We are learning a lot as we are doing (as always), so don't hesitate if you have any questions, it will be a pleasure to share tips and tricks, if possible.
