As Michigan looks to the future it is essential we have the infrastructure to match our goals. Michigan’s residents deserve reliable, safe, and affordable infrastructure. Our state will be the first to develop a long-term, comprehensive infrastructure plan, allowing Michigan to be a leader in the nation in infrastructure investments and recommendations.

Commission members are committed to developing comprehensive infrastructure recommendations that will prioritize the needs for Michigan for the next 30-50 years and include transportation, water and stormwater, wastewater treatment and drainage, energy, communications, and additional area recommendations as agreed upon by the Commission. Commissioners are on track to have a comprehensive and implementable set of recommendations to share with the public, Governor, and legislature by November 30th of this year.

Public input is especially valuable to this process, and the Commission members are looking forward to engaging with the public, both in-person and through this website.

Since their first meeting in April, Commission members have been gathering relevant reports and data and engaging technical advisors to help identify challenges and opportunities across all sectors of infrastructure. Commissioners have reiterated their commitment to providing a long-term vision for the state’s infrastructure that will enhance Michiganders’ quality of life and build strong communities for future generations.

Commission members are up to this challenge and look forward to collaborating with Michigan residents, state departments, private entities, infrastructure stakeholders and technical experts to provide tangible and attainable recommendations that will benefit our state for generations to come.
