EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a form of psychotherapy where you focus on the trauma memory while simultaneously experiencing bilateral stimulation (eye movements).

First Session therapist Vielka Almanzar says it's particularly useful for people who experience flashbacks and recurring memories. It can help desensitize the emotional charge of the memory.

More recently, EMDR has been in the media after it was shown in the docuseries, "The Me You Can't See". Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex spoke about his mental health journey and shows himself being guided by his therapist in EMDR to cope with anxiety.
