40 YEARS OF DC PUNK ROCK !! — In July 1984, Bobby Polsky opened SMASH! in Washington DC. A true Punk Rock paradise! The iconic record and clothing store would expand and contract with the ebb and flow of Punk Rock over the next 22 years on M street in Georgetown. In 2007, Matt Moffatt, a longtime customer turned employee would take the reins from Bobby and move the store to Adams Morgan in DC — where it is still resides today ! 40 years and five different locations later, the store keeps the Punk Rock spirit ALIVE ! (along with CDs, classic vinyl, cassettes and an array of retro clothing).
