Beef Well Done: Drake, Kendrick Lamar, and Hip Hop's Family Feud

At (very) long last, my thoughts on this beef between Kendrick Lamar and Drake. This year, two of the biggest rappers in the world went head-to-head with a series of diss tracks, but the beef runs much deeper than just what we've heard over the last few months. With this video, I sought to create a definitive, historical guide to hip hop's family feud, analyzing the current beef in the context of more than twenty years of bad blood.

I can't imagine I'll ever make a longer video than this one, but to me this beef is a significant cultural milestone. Though I'm most certainly a guest in this space, I've been a devoted and respectful student of hip hop for more than a decade, and commenting on this beef gives me an opportunity to demonstrate my love and respect for a genre and culture that has energized and inspired me for the entirety of my adult life. I hope you all enjoy watching this as much as I did making it, this was truly a labor of love!
