Silent Backpacking Inyo National Forest

Описание к видео Silent Backpacking Inyo National Forest

As always, this was a last-minute trip! I checked for permits just in case, and I found one on Wednesday that someone had just canceled, starting on Saturday. I asked my boss if I could take Monday off for a two-night, three-day trip, and he was okay with it! The next day, Thursday, work informed me that there wasn’t much to do on Friday, so if I wanted, I could take it off. I packed all my gear that same Thursday and hit the road. I passed through Yosemite and made my way to Mammoth Lakes, arriving in time to check out the Hot Springs. I had a great time at the Hot Springs with a perfect sunset. That night, I went to Bishop and stayed at Pleasant Valley Owens River Campground—a really nice spot away from town with awesome skies full of stars.

On Friday morning, I woke up and went back to Mammoth Lakes to explore the area. I checked out the Hot Creek Geologic Site, which was really cool, and then tried to visit Rainbow Falls, but it was too crowded. I decided to head back to Bishop and find a nice campground to stay the night since my permit was for Saturday. I arrived in Bishop around 1 PM and decided to check the Ranger Station. They had permits available for that same day! Without hesitation, I grabbed one and started my trip that same Friday.

I arrived at the parking lot of Sabrina Lake Basin and packed my backpack. I hiked all the way to Blue Lake, where I spent the first night. I was lucky enough to get a campsite since there were a lot of people backpacking there. The sunset was incredible, and I had an awesome night. The next morning, I woke up, packed all my stuff, and made my way to Hungry Packer Lake. I also visited Topsy Turvy Lake for a bit and then Moonlight Lake. The trail to the lake is absolutely beautiful, full of flowers, waterfalls, and creeks. I stopped at Moonlight Falls for a quick dip and then kept going. I arrived at Hungry Packer Lake, and nobody was there—I had the whole lake to myself! I settled down and took a quick dip in the water. I spent an amazing second night watching the meteor shower! I was going to stay another night, but I decided to head back a day early since I started the trip a day early, and instead, go to Yosemite for the last day. I had an amazing time, and I hope you guys enjoy the video. This is the first time I’m adding music, and I’m not sure how I feel about it, so all feedback is more than welcome!

Thank you for watching!
