Описание к видео How I Became a Doll Collector | From My First Barbie to BJDs & Vintage Treasures

Welcome back to Rhiella’s Army of Dolls, where I dive deep into my doll collector journey, from childhood to my ever-evolving collection of vintage dolls, fashion dolls, and BJDs (ball-jointed dolls). In this video, I finally answer the most asked question in the doll collecting community: how did I get started as a doll collector? Believe it or not, I didn’t play with dolls as a child, but as a teenager, my passion for sewing vintage 1970s patterns led me toward dolls as creative outlets, starting with plushies and eventually purchasing my first dolls in 2003: a Mattel Flavas doll and a My Scene Barbie. From there, I explored a range of collectible dolls including Susie by R&D, Takara Jenny, and the Daisy doll by iconic Mary Quant.

As my interests grew, so did my collection—branching into 16-inch fashion dolls like Madame Alexander’s Alex, Robert Tonner, and Gene Marshall, as well as unique BJDs from Lati and Soom. I also experimented with sewing for 18-inch dolls like American Girl, but found my niche creating fantasy and historical outfits for tiny dolls like Palitoy Pippa and Topper Dawn. Over the years, I’ve rediscovered my love for dolls I let go and expanded into newer lines like Integrity Toys, Monster High, Rainbow High, and recently Smart Doll and Dollfie Dream. Whether you're a fellow collector or just doll-curious, this video is a deep dive into the passion, nostalgia, and creativity behind my ever-growing collection. Don’t forget to subscribe, comment, and share your own doll journey!
