Adani has been given more than 1000 acres of land in Bihar at just 1 rupee per acre per year. Many are calling it the biggest scam but the truth is more complex.

This project goes back to 2010 when Bihar first planned a thermal power plant in Bhagalpur. The NHPC deal failed because of land acquisition issues and even the solar power project was cancelled after farmer protests. In 2024 the project was revived and Adani Power won the bid by offering the lowest cost of electricity.

The government says this deal will bring 26000 crore investment and create more than 15000 jobs in Bihar. Similar land deals were given earlier by Congress governments to Infosys in Andhra Pradesh and to Adani in Gujarat for Mundra Port.
