Almost six out of ten parents admit they try to guess their baby’s gender before the scan. While only an ultrasound or genetic test can confirm it, research suggests there are some real clues that may point to a girl.

Moms carrying girls often experience stronger morning sickness, sweeter cravings, and even a sharper sense of smell. Mood swings and skin changes are also common, thanks to higher estrogen levels. Studies show a slightly higher risk of gestational diabetes, smaller birth weight, and stronger immune reactions when carrying a daughter.

Other hints include the placenta attaching more often to the left side, lower pre-pregnancy blood pressure, and even labors that last a little longer.

Of course, none of these signs are guaranteed, but noticing these patterns can make pregnancy feel more exciting and help you connect with your baby before the big reveal.
