Revival does not happen where sin is ignored, hidden, excused, or renamed. Revival occurs where there is honest confession and genuine repentance. In this lesson, we confront the truth that sin is not mainly about “breaking rules”—sin is about breaking fellowship with a holy God. Most people worry more about what sin does to their image than to their relationship with God, but revival restores a holy fear and brings sin into the light.

We walk through Acts 5 to see the difference between being drawn to God’s power and surrendering to God’s authority. Miracles attract people, but holiness confronts motives. We also examine how jealousy, pride, and fear of exposure block repentance, and how unrepentant hearts care more about maintaining control and reputation than walking in truth.

Then we move into the heart of repentance through Psalm 51 and Psalm 32, showing that guilt can either produce life or lead to death depending on what you do with it. Godly sorrow produces repentance that leads to salvation, while worldly sorrow produces death. Conviction should draw you to God—condemnation drives you away from God. We also address spiritual accusation and the reality that forgiveness is free, but it must be received with humility, confession, and a true turning away from sin.

This lesson ends with a call to stop pretending, stop excusing, stop delaying, and stop defending what God exposes. Revival begins when we tell the truth about sin and surrender fully to Jesus Christ.
