In Celebration of Zero Emissions Day on September 21, Hawai‘i News Now's Rachel Paccaro featured Texaco in Hawai‘i's Ho‘āla program, which is dedicated to offsetting carbon emissions and protecting Hawai‘i's environment.

On Zero Emissions Day, Ho‘āla is offsetting 100% carbon on fuel purchases made at all 58 Texaco in Hawai‘i locations. And, if you're one of the first 50 customers who purchases eight or more gallons of gas at any local Texaco, you'll receive a free eco-Chico reusable tote bag. And finally, one lucky winner will receive a year’s worth of gas with all of the carbon emissions offset.

If you would like to sign up for a chance to win, please stop by your nearest Texaco location throughout the month of September and scan the QR code next to the pumps (no purchase necessary). The winner will take home $3,125 in Texaco gas cards that may be used at any Texaco in Hawai‘i station. And, the winner can rest assured that 100% of the carbon emissions from this giveaway will be offset by Ho‘āla.

Since its inception a year ago, Ho‘āla has offset more than 160 million miles of carbon emissions from fuel used in Hawai‘i. In addition to offsetting carbon emissions, Ho‘āla supports local eco non-profit organizations by providing funding and volunteers for local environmental projects. Some of the non-profits who have benefitted from the Ho‘āla program include Kupu, Hui O Ho‘ohonua, and Mālama Learning Center.
