Vivo Por Ella

The performance of Vivo por ella with the WSU Orchestra, under the brilliant direction of Dr. Danh Pham, was a powerful tribute to the deep relationship that artists share with their craft. This was the opening performance for the Mariachi Orchestra Herencia Concert hosted by WSU for Hispanic Heritage Month. The emotional depth of the song resonated on a profound level, with our director, Jose Iniguez, and mezzo-soprano Mareanne Silva delivering an extraordinary performance that captured the heart of the moment.
It was also a wonderful opportunity to introduce the orchestra students to the Bolero genre—many of whom had never performed it before. Their ability to embrace the beauty of Bolero and infuse it with such passion was inspiring to witness. José and Mareanne truly brought the magic to life, blending the elegance of opera with the soul of Bolero, making it a performance we won’t soon forget!
