Deuteronomy 10:12-13 12 And now, Israel, what doth the Lord thy God require of thee, but to fear the Lord thy God, to walk in all his ways, and to love him, and to serve the Lord thy God with all thy heart and with all thy soul, 13 To keep the commandments of the Lord, and his statutes, which I command thee this day for thy good?
What God is saying here is that He requires our complete devotion. We must fear, reverence , and respect Him while giving our whole heart to Him.

Micah 6:6-8 6 Wherewith shall I come before the Lord, and bow myself before the high God? shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves of a year old? 7 Will the Lord be pleased with thousands of rams, or with ten thousands of rivers of oil? shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul? 8 He hath shewed thee, O man, what is good; and what doth the Lord require of thee, but to do justly, and to love mercy, and to walk humbly with thy God?
Micah shares some wisdom with us as he clearly states what God requires. He says the requirements are for us to do justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly before God.

Matthew 22:37-39 37 Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
This requirement is huge. God is love and He loves us with an everlasting and unconditional love; therefore, it only makes sense that He requires us to reciprocate that unconditional , agape love right back to Him.

John 6:28-29 28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? 29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.
This text gives us the fundamental thing we must do. To be considered a Believer, we must first believe that God sent Jesus to be our Savior. This requirement to believe is a segue to the next text which explicitly tells us how to please God.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.
Without faith, it is impossible to please God, because faith is the avenue by which we come to God and trust Him for our salvation.

Matthew 4:17 From that time Jesus began to preach, and to say, Repent: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Repentance is the action of repenting; sincere regret or remorse. True repentance is a sincere turning away, in both the mind and heart, from self to God. It involves a change of mind that leads to action—the radical turning away from a sinful course to God.

There are many things we desire from God; however, instead of always asking God for things, let’s first be intentional about doing those things that He requires of us.
