Garrard 30 Gramophone motor from SJD unknown machine

Описание к видео Garrard 30 Gramophone motor from SJD unknown machine

Just looking over this motor, no problems with it, everything intact and working like it should. It's from a machine that only has SJD on a water decal, no other markings to identify it. Looks similar to a Victrola 210, obviously tonearm, reproducer and motor are made in the UK so I am assuming this is one of the UK market offbrand Gramophones, probably late 20's. Someone retrofitted some radio parts into it's cabinet in the record storage compartment. It was found at an estate sale 20 years ago and the owner would like to play the machine. Reproducer was a fairly generic potmetal model with aluminum diaphragm, I was able to rebuild it with Victrola No2 mica diaphragm, and homemade gaskets. The potmetal was bubbled but serviceable, also said SJD on the reproducer. Garrard motors like this are nice to play with, rarely any problems, and I have yet to find one with dry grease. The spring barrels are sealed up good, and whatever grease they used was top quality. There were no issues with the springs, gears, and anything else. Anyone know what an SJD machine is? Who sold them and when?
