A design practitioner for more than 30 years, Vivek Gupta is a renowned figure in urban planning, architecture, and interior design.

According to him, public infrastructure is a form of social art that can empower a community by constructing meaningful buildings that are both environmentally friendly and considerate of their surroundings, clients and urban design and planning.

He truly believes that an architect's work outlives the creator by a wide margin. Thus, it is essential that design be the outcome of sensitive and analytical thought to create something that affects end users' brains, embeds emotion, and is resource-meaningful. He has a keen interest in shaping the importance of infrastructure in India.

He walked us through a few ideas for making India a better-designed nation. He emphasises how crucially important public infrastructure is to the country. In his opinion, the most fundamental things to remember are infrastructure importance, urban architecture, and public space architecture.

He asserts that placemaking architecture is where designers and architects should begin. This entails improved street, lamppost, and road design, among other things. Since these public spaces are where people interact the most, people need to be inspired by them to implement the same design principles in their homes. Residents can learn to comprehend the importance of infrastructure design and management and apply these at home.
