Ever wondered why it is that connecting oddball accessories to your vintage tube radio is said to be a bad idea? Well, here you go... This is me discovering that my external antenna becomes live at nearly line voltage when the radio is turned on.

Needless to say, don't try this at home (or at school, or at a friend's house, or at work, or anywhere else you might think of) unless you REALLY know what you're doing! The reading on that multimeter proves right there that I could very well have gotten quite the shock if I had touched that antenna.

(NOTE: The line voltage here isn't actually that low. The outlet itself measures around 121VAC.)
