PROJECT DESCRIPTION:

Taoreta Ltd (Taoreta 倒れた) in collaboration with Youth Education Project (YEP) and Music Education Learning Limited (MEL) have been delivering workshops since the beginning of 2024, around the topics of the cost of living crisis, the genocide taking place in Palestine and first past the post political model. These topics were chosen by the participants as they wanted to tell their side of the story.

To engage the participants, the partnership organisations used the following methods:

- Digital music production

- Instrument playing

- Djing

- Song writing/lyric writing

- Managing & handling budgets for a music project

- Script Writing for a music video

- Acting

- Filming a music video

- Preparing for a live event

- How to perform as an artist & band

- How to run an event

The above methods were chosen by the participants with advice, mentoring and guidance from the partner organisations. The end result included 3 tracks:

- Livin (UK Rap)

- Orbital Reality (Nu Metal)

- Silent System (Nu Metal)

Livin was accompanied by a music video and the participants also held a live show at the Firebug (venue in Leicester), and the project concluded in the summer of 2024.
