Let's see what we find in 4 pages (alone!):

1. Line charts mimics the way we intuitively follow a timeline, drawing our attention to fluctuation and trends.

2. Embrace Simple Charts!

3. Iterate, Iterate, Iterate. Be international with your design choices. Use words to make data; meaningful.

4. Use the fewest colors possible. Grey is your Friend.

5. Simple color choices = less cognitive load require to interpret dashboards.

6. Consitent mental models and style guide = familiarity for the aundience.

7. Be conscious on how color affects readability and accesability.

8. The Schneiderman's mantra: Overview first, zoom and filter, then details on demand.

.... that's a lot for 4 pages of good literacy, specially for making charts: "pretty".
