This issue has been going on for years! In 2019, Alfie and Rosie, who were found by soldiers after their mother were killed, will understand the pain that poaching inflicts all too well.

The well-meaning soldiers gave the cubs to a local man, who promised to release them back into the wild. Instead, he locked them away in a pitch black, crumbling building. They had been deceived, robbed of not just their innocence, but their freedom.

Thanks to our partners, FPWC, Alfie and Rosie found light at the end of their grim ordeal and are now safely recovering at the rescue center. However, poaching still brings a darkness across Armenia… one that has caused history to repeat itself.

We have been raising VITAL funds for Sam and Lexi, two tiny bear cubs that have lost their mothers to poaching. Sam was found clinging to a tree, whose sibling sadly passed away from these tragic circumstances, and Lexi was rescued after she escaped a cruel existence in captivity.
