ACCIDENTALLY Making a Unique Photo in a Classic Location

Making unique photographs in iconic photography locations isn't easier. And, it's getting harder in this world where social media has taken over. People gravitate to the classic photography spots around the world.
Even down here in Namibia, places like Deadvlei and Sossusvlei are becoming overrun with photographers. Travel photography isn't a hobby anymore, it's an obsession. And it seems that photographers are obsessing more and more over certain classic photo spots.
Here in Namibia, I tried to take my photo tour to one of the most iconic photography locations in the world: Deadvlei. However, we took a couple missteps and found ourselves at a different salt flat and a bit brokenhearted.
In the end, though, I think it was for the best. I think that I ended up making a pretty unique photo in a place that really is over-photographed. And any day you can walk away with a unique photo from a really iconic place in the world it's a good day.
So today our photography in Namibia didn't really go to plan. But, it worked out. In fact, we might have been better off because of it.
