SECP removed Econex from list of illegal companies

Recently SECP has removed ECONEX SALES & MARKETING (PRIVATE) LIMITED from the List of Companies Indulged in Unauthorized Activities. Here is the response from SECP received from the SECP Service Disk Management System
Thankyou for sharing your concerns with this office.

‘ECONEX SALES & MARKETING (PRIVATE) LIMITED’ is a registered company with SECP in “Marketing and Advertisement” Sector. However, it is not licensed to carry out any licensed activity. An investigation into the affairs of the company was conducted by the Commission and subsequently order dated July 27, 2022 was passed by the authorized adjudication officer who has concluded that no instance of deposit taking by the company in the guise of MLM could be established.

Moreover, it is stated that no registered company/unregistered entity can accept investments/deposits from general public and offer profits on such investments/deposits or offer loans or leasing/financing services unless licensed by the SECP or SBP. In this respect, SECP clarifies that mere registration of any company with it, does not necessarily mean that these companies are allowed to carrying on such businesses, which are otherwise prohibited and restricted by any law, rules regulations for the time being in force in Pakistan. It is therefore suggested that before entering in to any such transactions, please be assured that whether the company / entity has valid license by SECP /SBP.

Please also note that certain fraudulent persons/entities are deceptively seeking money/ deposits from the general public on the pretext of investment, employment, online jobs, add watching packages, trading, investment in cryptocurrency, forex trading etc. through print, electronic and social media while offering lucrative schemes entailing guaranteed fixed returns, deposit safety assurance, provision of prizes and easy payment options. Please refrain from dealing with any such entities/persons.
