I was a kid when I started getting acupuncture and I think that’s why I love treating babies, toddlers, kids, teens and young adults so much.

Young people are full of energy and curiosity. And they respond really well to acupuncture, sort of how animals respond really well to acupuncture. My Chinese professors would say that kids have a lot of “qi” or energy and that is why they get such great results from acupuncture. Parents out there might agree, when our kids are healthy, they are full of spunk and vitality!

I received acupuncture as a child for allergies and asthma. As I got older, acupuncture also helped with the occasional sprained ankle from basketball or sleep issues from final exam stress.

Kids come into the clinic for several different reasons. In this particular video, I am treating the patient for hormonal acne. But I also see these conditions frequently:

-Colds and flu

-Insomnia or sleep issues

-Digestive complaints, such as constipation

-Anxiety, or stress-related issues

-Migraines and headaches

-Body pain, such as neck, pain or low back pain

-Injuries from sports or accidents

-ADHD and restoring a sense of calm

In this video, I will show you an example of what I do for a pediatric patient. I hope that it will peak your interest enough that you might share it with someone you know who is a parent or caregiver of a child who might need acupuncture. It saved my life and inspired me to become an acupuncturist to help others.

And, when the pediatric patient comes in, I’ll usually give their caregiver a mini stress-relief acupuncture session as well! Everybody wins!
