The Story of the 1st Live & Dead Release…
I’ve been a fan of Moat Cobra from day 1. The first time I heard them, I thought their mixture of metal with hints of hardcore and punk was beyond killer. Our band, Call in Dead, played several shows with them over the years, and each time I felt like I was watching a show with one of the best metal bands I’d ever seen. It made me both sad and proud that I was often one of a small number of people to be watching their awesomeness. It doesn’t hurt that the dudes in the band are a bunch of quality dudes that I love hanging with.

The show in question started as a focus of getting a live recording by FL old ethics hardcore band, Fortitude recorded. Since they have that NY style of hardcore that merges well with metal, Mike said it was the perfect show to also record Moat Cobra. I couldn’t disagree. And if I had had any doubts, they’d have been erased by the crushing show that Moat Cobra put on that night. It was sick as fuck.

Now as you know, this album also has their recorded studio (dead) tracks for a new concept we were trying. It just made sense. I’ve wanted vinyl of Deimos since it was released, so like any classic punk rocker, I just put it out myself as the B side to the live. Which is better? I don’t know. Does it matter? It’s like asking who the first punk band was. Who cares, just be happy it’s here. So put that shit on your turntable, crank up the volume and enjoy!
