Exploring Old Cardinal Stadium, a final farewell | Louisville, KY

Описание к видео Exploring Old Cardinal Stadium, a final farewell | Louisville, KY

Thanks to the quarantine, I finished up a little video project I wanted to do. In March of last year, I was able to explore Old Cardinal Stadium before it was torn down. I’ve always had a fascination for old abandoned places (especially this one), so once I secured permission, I went to the site on almost a weekly basis to try and save as much as I could.

I brought my camera along with me and tried to compile most of the experience into this video, while also adding some of the history of Old Cardinal Stadium from its inception. One of my favorite finds were the original hand painted billboard(s) that stood in front of the stadium for decades. One side was preserved a little better due to being covered up with newer advertising from 1999-2019. I remembered seeing it as a kid and wasn’t sure if it would still be there, but once the newer vinyl advertising was taken off, it revealed the original “Home of the Louisville Cardinals” billboard that stood in the stadiums forefront for so many years.

I’d like to give a special thanks to fellow editor, Kyle Brook, for collaborating with me and doing some voiceover work. Also, a shoutout to my wife, Maja, for letting me go crazy on the basement. She even held up one of the old lights while I rewired it into our ceiling. My father was also there every step of the way, so a big thank you to him as well. The video has a long run-time, but I wanted to include as much as I could. R.I.P. Old Cardinal Stadium..
