I returned to the forest cabin I built with completely primitive methods four years ago. The storm that had been raging for days changed every corner of the woods. While walking between the trees, I realized that the old firewood shelter in front of the cabin was no longer enough. So today, I designed a new and more functional firewood rack for the cabin.

When the rain softened for a moment, I wandered deeper into the forest. It’s the best time of year… the season when mushrooms are at their most delicious. I gathered fresh wild mushrooms, cleaned them, and baked a savory mushroom pastry in the stone oven. The smell rising from the oven mixed with the scent of wet soil, creating an indescribable sense of peace.

At night, the forest fell into complete darkness. Around midnight, I woke up to the sound of heavy rainfall. An incredibly intense downpour and powerful thunder were shaking the cabin. The storm was so strong that when I stepped outside in the morning, I saw that most of the chestnuts had fallen to the ground. I collected them one by one and added them to a small breakfast feast.

This video captures my full experience of the fire, the stone oven, the mushrooms I gathered, the fallen chestnuts, the sounds of nature, and three peaceful yet challenging days in my cabin.
