Within the framework of bi-communal cooperation in Cyprus, the European Union has provided 900k Euros of funding for the restoration of the Othello Castle which was undertaken by the bi-communal Technical Committee on Cultural Heritage with technical assistance from UNDP Cyprus. The Castle, built 700 years ago, takes its modern name from Shakespeare's famous play and proudly stands today as one of the most precious cultural and historical heritage sites on the island.
