Making My Own Fueling Supplements For Ironman Training

Описание к видео Making My Own Fueling Supplements For Ironman Training

I'm inching closer to my first Ironman coming from no experience and one huge aspect of training is fueling and intra-fueling.

While I was in marathon training, I never took fueling and intra-fueling seriously. I would do my long runs with no fuel and realize that was probably not smart and there's no shot I won't not be fueling during my Ironman.

As you may have experienced, supplements can be a bit pricey. So what I decided to do, is buy the ingredients and make my own supplements.

I bought 24kgs of maltodextrin, I eventually bought pure fructose and someone mentioned that's what you should add, so I'm using that for my drinks. So far, that has been going extremely well during my training.

To replace gels, I tried making my own gummies. There wasn't much flavor or taste to it, but if it is giving me the sugar and carbs my body wants, then I believe it's solid. The only issue I would say is that the size of the gummies is a bit tough to get down when you're putting in hard effort.

Now that I have fructose and maltodextrin, if I try making the gummies again, I plan on adding that in there to see how it goes.
