The Dell Latitude 5420 is a 14 inch business laptop. it comes in this boring box with just the laptop and the 65W Usb-C travel charger.
The plastic material feels smooth to the touch, its different than the older latitude models which had more rubbery feel to them.
There are plenty of ports and slots on all sides including an ethernet port, which becomes more and more rare nowadays in laptops.
This keyboard is no different than the rest of the new latitude models and is pretty great.
The touchpad is also nice and roomy.
This pc seems heavier and thicker than usual, but it looks like it is well built and has more premium feel to it than Lenovo’s soft plastic laptops for example.
The back cover is held in place by 8 screws and is easily pries open.
I think Here is the NVME drive under this plastic cover.
Here we got a nice wifi6 card and a slot for cellular modem with antenna.
2 memory slots are always great. You won’t get 2 slots in any of the smaller latitudes.
This large 63Wh battery is held in place with 4 screws and is easily replaceable.
Overall, this is a good business computer, It is well built, has many ports, upgradable and relatively inexpensive. It is a bit too thick and heavy for my taste but a company laptop must be rugged and I prefer this sturdy frame than some cheap Lenovo plastic any day.
