'Cumulonimbus' Sky Tower (Remix) - Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team DX 【20K SUBS SPECIAL】

arguably one of the best songs from PMD, i’ve always mulled over how i could ever make an arrangement of it that would be worthwhile and honestly i think i’m pretty proud of myself with this one!! please enjoy my rendition of Sky Tower, from the original Pokémon Mystery Dungeon: Rescue Team games!!

i had an absolute BLAST conceptualising and eventually writing this one. sky tower is one of those magical tracks that takes you on an adventure through pure emotional culmination and i really want to capture that in an arrangement while also doing something unique and true to my musical voice.

i love all of Arata Iiyoshi’s work on the PMD OSTs and i especially his clever motivic usage of fourth and fifth intervals throughout sky tower to really put forth the openness of the skies that the player traverses. my way of interpreting the piece was adding more rhythmic interest and general energy to really push the momentum even further (yes i did bust out the 11/4 in the breakdown, ur welcome). with some added percussion and chip instrumentation on top of the orchestral flair, i think i brought a fresh new take on the track while keeping it true to its source. and i do hope you all appreciate it! huge shoutout to Emdasche as always, he was an amazing sounding board during the entire creative process for this track!
