There are two Rosetta Stones in the British Museum, one is for study purposes and the other is the original, discovered in 1799 by soldiers in Napoleon’s invading army at Rosetta in Egypt.
The importance of the Rosetta Stone to archaeology cannot be underestimated. This short video includes the museum descriptions of the Stone. In the British Museum there is a constant crowd around this amazing artefact.
