Skwentna is approximately 65 air miles northwest of Anchorage. Fish Lakes Creek is known for its excellent sport-fishing opportunities for summertime anglers. The area is classified as an isolated/remote area, unzoned by the Matanuska Susitna Borough.

Fishing, hunting, hiking, all five Alaska salmon runs are found at nor near the lodge: king, silver, pinks, chum, and sockeye.
