A celebration of a small but mighty fish, the inaugural Cornish Sardine Festival in Newlyn was a sizzling success! 🐟 Held over the August Bank Holiday weekend and a collaboration between the Cornwall Sardine Management Association and Newlyn Harbour Lights, this new event was a modern tribute to a timeless industry. It was more than just a food festival; it was a testament to the community's passion for its fishing heritage and a chance to get up close with the very heart of the fleet. From the smell of sardines grilling on the harbour wall to stepping aboard the boats that caught them, the festival brought together fishermen, chefs, and the public in a vibrant, unforgettable celebration.

A huge 'Thank You' to all those members of the Cornwall Sardine Management Association who were there, Newlyn Harbour Lights who ran the refreshments and entertainment, the staff at restaurant Argoe without whom all hands would have starved and the wives, girlfriends, children and a host of others who volunteered over the weekend to make the first ever Cornish Sardine Festival such a success! Kudos to one and all!
