The Six Megapixel Club - using a 14 year old Pentax DSLR in 2019

I may have gotten carried away with this one too 😂 I just really liked trying to mimic the more documentary style. If you could call it that.

Thanks to everyone who posts in this thread for the inspiration, I really had a lot of fun shooting with this camera - it was good to get back to the basics after focusing so long on astrophotography and landscapes, and just have fun with photography. I'm tempted to keep this Pentax *ist DL, but I know it'll play second fiddle to my Pentax K-1 and may not get as much use.

The camera was really surprisingly good - this isn't like using a 14 year old cell phone or laptop. Things felt quick and snappy, other than the slow buffer rate and focusing. I used manual focus for all of these shots except one.

I highly recommend this or similar cameras that are older but still very high quality. Invest in your lenses, and honestly, for many types of photography, no one will be able to tell.
