When I first learned about friction fire, I started getting so many downloads and relevant information about my life, projects, relationships, friends, and feedback about my point of origin.

This shit is spiritual.

Learning how to make a fire in this way is fucking ceremonial and sacred. I love walking to a gathering, big or small, and offering to start the fire with the bow drill.

This tool and process is intelligent and have a lot to say about you, and how you do things.

All you need is a few pieces of wood, mine are mostly made from cedar, a knife to shape the spindle and the board, and a piece of string to make the bow.

Together, the kit is 5 pieces: 1) Bow, 2) Spindle, 3) Board, 4) Handle and 5) The coal catcher.

Of course, to start the fire you'll need a Nest (or bundle), which catches the coal to blow it into a full flame.

It's simple, it's awesome, and it's a thing of a miracle every time to see the tiny smokey coal progress into a FLAME and then into a full-blown FIRE.

I left my 15-year Computer Engineering career to learn shit like this, and this was one of the biggest ones that took me about 2 years to learn, mostly self-taught, with the key guidance of a few mentors.

Learning how to start friction fire is a form of healing medicine for Technopenuraphobia (the fear of no technology). Technopenuriaphobia, or TPP for short, occurs when people are high up the Technology Ladder, but are missing the lower steps of the ladder, which keeps them disconnected, unable to get to the ground level.

You need your conscious anger, focus of your attention, problem-solving and perseverance to use this tool.

This tool has taught me how to start businesses, communities, relationships, and how to learn new skills.

I'm just too stubborn to do things differently, but this tool is sacred to me and it's THE SHIT!.
