Investigators discovered the victim was not who his identification claimed he was, and that the bear attack had been staged to fake a death.
At the center of the story is Steven Douglas Lloyd, a vulnerable man who believed he had finally met someone kind—someone who promised him money and a home. That trust cost him his life.
