Electric vehicles are the future, but the 2024 Lucid Air rewrites the rules for what an EV can deliver in terms of range, performance, and luxury. This stylish four-door blends cutting-edge tech with an elegant design inside and out, making it a true class-leader among premium EVs.

The Air's party piece is its incredible range - up to 516 miles on a single charge according to EPA estimates for the Grand Touring model. That shatters what key rivals like the Porsche Taycan and Tesla Model S can achieve. Even the base Pure trim boasts a 410-mile range rating, eliminating most range anxiety concerns. And when you do need to top up, the Air supports ultra-fast 300 kW charging to recoup hundreds of miles of range in just 20 minutes or so.

But the Air doesn't sacrifice performance for efficiency. Lucid's engineers optimized the battery layout and electric motors to make this luxury EV startlingly quick, with the range-topping Sapphire model ripping from 0-60 mph in under 2.0 seconds. The Air handles well too, feeling planted and agile despite its substantial weight. Ride quality is excellent in most situations as well.

Step inside and you're greeted by a modern, minimalist cabin with top-notch materials and an abundance of premium features like massaging seats. A massive curved glass roof lets in plenty of light. The Air also debuts Lucid's slick new infotainment system with a curved glass cockpit display.

There are a few areas that could use some refinement. Road and wind noise are a bit pronounced at highway speeds, and some cheaper plastic trim pieces disappoint in an otherwise luxurious environment. But those are relatively small gripes for such an ambitious first effort from Lucid.

With its thrilling performance, outstanding efficiency, and elegant style, the 2024 Lucid Air raises the bar for what a premium electric sedan can be. If you have the means, this could be the luxury EV to get.
