My first experience doing the maintenance on my Gator 150CC scooter! I watched a video on how to change the oil, and still managed to overfill it...

Things I learned from this experience:

1. When doing an oil change, make sure to accurately measure the oil before you start. It's always easy to add more...but draining excess oil is a pain.
2. When checking the oil level, make sure you are on a completely flat surface. It's possible that I didn't overfill the oil as much as I thought and that checking it while on the center stand gave it a false level reading.
3. Have a pan large enough to catch all the oil when draining the old oil. Mine didn't fit under the scooter, and using these bowls was silly even though it technically worked fine.
4. Drain the oil out of the 2nd drain that doesn't have the spring and filter...then clean the filter once that is drained so you don't risk dropping the filter and spring into the draining oil.
