Un filmato che contiene un’analisi dei due decenni che precedettero la fine, almeno cronologica, dell’Impero Romano d’Occidente, fissata, per convenzione relativa, al settembre dell’anno 476. Si tratta di un periodo storico complesso, a volte dall’apparenza caotico, in cui è possibile comunque riscontrare un filo conduttore abbastanza sicuro. Cercheremo pertanto di seguire un’analisi storica che faccia luce sul come e sul perché si sia giunti all’esito della deposizione di Romolo Augustolo, l’ultimo imperatore d’Occidente e quali legami ci siano stati con Bisanzio e la sua classe dirigente.

This film contains an analysis of the two decades that preceded the end, at least chronologically, of the Western Roman Empire, fixed, by relative convention, at September of the year 476. This is a complex historical period, sometimes chaotic in appearance, in which it is nevertheless possible to find a fairly secure thread. We will therefore attempt to follow a historical analysis that sheds light on how and why the deposition of Romulus Augustulus, the last emperor of the West, came about and what links there were with Byzantium and its ruling class.
